About the position
We are hiring CDL drivers in Opelika, AL (36801) for local routes running through Atlanta, Birmingham, and South Georgia. This is a great opportunity for experienced drivers and trainees seeking stable, home‑daily work with no‑touch freight.
Pay & schedule
- 5‑Day Schedule: $800 – $1,200 per week
- 6‑Day Schedule: $1,300 – $1,550 per week
- Average weekly earnings: $1,200 – $1,500
- Weekly mileage: 1,200 – 1,800 miles
- Short haul pay: $40 for loads under 51 miles
- Stop pay (5‑day): $10 per stop
- Stop pay (6‑day): First stop $10, additional stops $15 each
- Unload pay follows stop pay structure
Home time & schedule
- Home daily – you'll sleep in your own bed every night
- Day and night shifts available
- Weekend work required
- Drivers are expected to work holidays
- Consistent freight and local routes
Freight details
- No‑touch freight – drop & hook, live load/unload
- Routes include: Atlanta, GA; Birmingham, AL; South Georgia
- Home daily operation
Driver requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- First‑seat experienced drivers only (trainees accepted)
- Clean MVR and PSP report – no major preventable accidents in last 3 years
- Must pass DOT physical and drug screen (including hair follicle)
- Ability to work night shifts consistently
- Must be comfortable with Chicago metro traffic and night operations
- Endorsements: not required
