OTR dry-van fleet running throughout the Western region with consistent lanes West of the Mississippi. Live load, unload, preload, and drop-and-hook freight. Home time every two weeks, day/night shifts available, and drivers are averaging 1,800–2,200 miles per week.
About the position
We are hiring CDL drivers in California for OTR dry‑van freight running across the Western region (all states West of the Mississippi). Enjoy home time every two weeks with consistent freight and lanes that keep you close to home most runs last no more than 3 days. Earn $1,000–$1,200 per week with 1,800–2,200 solo miles weekly. Trainees are welcome, no endorsements are required, and teams are also accepted. Multiple openings available immediately.
Pay & schedule
- Average weekly earnings: $1,000 – $1,200
- Solo weekly mileage: 1,800 – 2,200
- Stop pay: $15.00 per stop (except first and last)
- Bonus: Driver Performance Bonus (up to $0.06/mile for qualified drivers; no transition bonus)
- Short haul pay: Same as OTR (line haul pay scale)
Home time & schedule
- Home time: Every Two Weeks
- Day, night, and rotating shifts available
- Weekend work: Required (can coordinate with driver leader for holiday time off)
- Holiday work: Yes – but you may request time off with your driver leader
- Runs stay West of the Mississippi (option to go past if desired)
Freight details
- Equipment: Dry Van (OTR-DRY)
- Load/unload: Full hand unload, load assist, unload assist, pallet jack, tailgate
- Lanes: All states West of the Mississippi – normally no more than 3 days out
- Hub states: AZ, CA, CO, ID, KS, ND, NE, NM, NV, OK, OR, SD, TX, UT, WA, WY
- Hiring area: Any city in California (must live within 100 miles of any CA zip code)
Driver requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- Trainees welcome – First Seat and 1-year experienced also accepted
- Clean MVR and PSP – no major preventable accidents
- Must pass DOT physical and drug screen
- Must live within 100 miles of any California zip code
- Endorsements: none required
- Owner operators are not accepted; teams are accepted (both solo and team positions available)
Things to know
- Favorable: Keeps you near home – runs are normally no more than 3 days; won't cross the Mississippi unless you choose to
- Unfavorable: Some winter driving in the Western region – be prepared for seasonal conditions
- No transition bonus – but a Driver Performance Bonus is available
