Sisbro
Inc.
Founded in the 1980s and headquartered in Quincy, Illinois, Sisbro has grown from a single truck LTL operation into a trusted name in dry van and refrigerated freight transportation. With a fleet of over 100 power units and nearly 100 professional drivers, we specialize in contract trucking, dedicated fleet services, warehouse, and cross-dock operations across a 17-state Midwest region. Our modern equipment, experienced drivers, and commitment to safety have earned us back-to-back Platinum National Safety Awards. Backed by a family-oriented culture and a commitment to treating every driver like a name, not a number, Sisbro delivers excellence mile after mile.
“Sisbro is the best trucking company I've worked for in my 30-year career. They treat you like family, not a number. The dispatchers listen, the equipment is well-maintained, and the pay is competitive. Plus, they actually get you home when you need to be there.”
From a Single Truck to the Midwest's Supply Chain — Built on Family
Sisbro's story began in the late 1950s when founder G. H. Bemis returned home from the Army and started an LTL business with one truck and a trailer. His sister Carol handled the phones while G. H. peddled freight across the Midwest. In the 1980s, as transportation deregulation opened new opportunities, the family gathered around their kitchen table and decided to launch a truckload business. They chose a name that reflected their values: Sisbro — a combination of sister and brother.
Today, Sisbro operates a modern fleet of over 100 power units and employs nearly 100 professional drivers. We specialize in dry van and refrigerated freight, hauling perishables, building materials, general commodities, animal feed, paper, and industrial products across a 17-state Midwest region. Our services include regular contract trucking, dedicated driver and equipment operations, warehouse, and cross-dock services. With a safety-first culture that has earned us back-to-back Platinum National Safety Awards, and a driver retention rate far below industry standards, Sisbro delivers with the reliability, care, and family values that have made us a trusted partner for customers across the Midwest.
