About the position
We are hiring CDL drivers in the Gary, IN hiring area for OTR Dry Van freight running eastern US lanes from Indiana and Illinois to the Southeast. Enjoy 34‑hour restarts every two weeks with a mix of live load/unload, preload, and drop‑and‑hook. Earn $1,000–$1,700 per week with 1,900–2,500 weekly miles. Trainees are welcome — no experience required. Multiple openings available immediately within 100 miles of Gary.
Pay & schedule
- Pay: OTR mileage pay package
- Average weekly earnings: $1,000 – $1,700
- Weekly mileage: 1,900 – 2,500 miles
- Short haul pay: Same as OTR rate
- Stop pay: $15 per stop (except first and last)
- Unload pay: N/A
Home time & schedule
- Home every two weeks – with 34‑hour restarts
- Both day and night shifts available
- Weekend work: Voluntary
- Holiday work: Plan holiday home time appropriately
- Eastern US lanes – no Rockies, no NYC, stay close to home
Freight details
- Equipment: Dry Van
- Load/unload: Live load, live unload, preload, and drop & hook
- Lanes: Eastern US, from IN/IL to the Southeast
- Very busy lanes with consistent freight – no western states
- No NYC, no Rockies – predictable routes
Driver requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- Trainees welcome – no minimum experience required
- Clean MVR and PSP – no major preventable accidents
- Must pass DOT physical and drug screen
- Must live within 100 miles of Gary, IN (zip codes 46077, 46406)
- Endorsements: none required
- Owner operators and teams are not accepted – solo drivers only

- Must maintain a high safety score and remain crash‑free
- Night and early morning driving may be required
